Introduction

The following rules are a variation on the standard War Engine rules found in Section 3 of the Epic Armageddon Tournament Pack rules. They should be discussed during the 5 min warm up prior to commencing play.

War Engine Assaults with Titans

Some Titans are designed for fighting in close combat, while others for long range combat. To reflect this, the following amendments are proposed to the way in which Titans apply the rules for War Engines in an assault. Replace:

3.3.2 Close Combat and Firefight Attacks

Instead of rolling a single hit dice for each war engine in an assault, roll a number of hit dice equal to the war engine’s starting damage capacity. You may choose to split these between close combat rolls and firefight rolls as you see fit, but close combat rolls will only hit enemy units in base contact, while firefight rolls will only hit units within 15cm that are not in base contact.

With the following:

3.3.2 Close Combat and Firefight Attacks

Instead of rolling a single hit dice for each war engine when in close combat, roll a number of hit dice equal to half the war engines starting damage capacity (rounding up). In close combat, these attacks are considered Macro. In Firefight, these attacks are considered standard attacks but you roll a a number of hit dice equal to the war engines starting damage capacity. A player may choose to attack in close combat or firefight as they see fit, but close combat rolls will only hit enemy units in base contact, while firefight rolls will only hit units within 15cm that are not in base contact.
